U.S. Democrats have taken back the House of Representatives in an energized mid-term campaign that saw more women and two Muslims elected, a historic first. Republicans kept control of the senate. Texas Senator Ted Cruz hung on through a see-saw vote against upstart Beto O'Rourke.
