Mexico's president is defending police in that country for releasing the son of drug kingpin El Chapo soon after he was arrested. Police seized Ovidio Guzmán López at house yesterday in the city of Culiacán. Lopez is wanted in the U.S. on a drug trafficking charge. Soon after, security forces came under fire from drug cartel gunmen. At least eight people were killed in the violence - including one civilian. Authorities decided to release Lopez to stop the fighting and protect the public.
