Dorian strengthens toward U.S. after brushing Puerto Rico

Dorian has passed the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, dropping heavy rains with high winds but doing modest damage. It is now forecast to become a major hurricane by Friday, says the U.S. National Hurricane Center and Florida is getting ready for a direct hit.
