China's public security minister said today that China will crack down on what it calls violent terrorist activities and firmly safeguard its political security. This comes as Hong Kong's leader Carrie Lam speaks out for the first time since violence over the weekend. She met with a group of pro-democracy protesters in private this morning. But insists that she won't cave in to the demand that she step down.
