The Trump administration is going ahead with a plan to establish the U.S. Space Force. The President floated the idea in the spring and ordered the Pentagon to go ahead with it. Vice President Mike Pence made the announcement, Thursday. The aim of this sixth branch of the U.S. military is to get America ready for war in space.
