Tariffs hurting global economy, IMF warns G20 leaders as trade tensions escalate between the U.S. and China

The International Monetary Fund says the recent wave of trade tariffs will negatively, impact global growth. The warning was issued Saturday at the G20 meeting of finance ministers in Buenos Aires. IMF managing director Christine Lagarde has released a report detailing the impact of the restrictions already announced on global trade. Lagarde's warning came shortly after U.S. treasury secretary Steve Mnuchin said there was no economic effect, yet, on the world's largest economy. This weekend's meeting comes amid escalating trade tensions between the U-S and China, the world's second largest economy.
