
A deadly late winter storm has blasted the U.S. east coast, from Virginia to Maine with heavy snow and rain. Nearly 2 million homes and businesses lost power. Across the region, seven people were killed by falling trees, brought down by wind gusts reaching 140 kilometres an hour.
