Newfoundland and Labrador could lose one fifth of its population by 2043

Newfoundland and Labrador could lose as many as 90,000 people - one fifth the population - by 2043, says Statistics Canada. A combination of old age, a low birth rate and near-stagnant immigration are projected as the causes for this shrinkage.
