Hong Kong delays extradition bill after raucous mass protest

HONGKONG-EXTRADITION/

Police in Hong Kong used tear gas to disperse protesters who massed outside government buildings to oppose a controversial extradition bill. Some of the protesters threw rocks and bottles. Demonstrators fear greater Chinese control over the semi-autonomous area. Passage of the bill has been delayed.
