India to find out Thursday who will lead for next 5 years

Delhi

Thursday, the world's largest democracy finds out who will lead it for the next five years. Exit polls point to a second term for Indian prime minister Narendra Modi and his party. The acclaimed novelist Arundhati Roy is a prominent and persistent critic, both of Modi and the nationalist organization behind his ruling party. On May 12, Roy was in New York to give the Arthur Miller Freedom to Write lecture. As luck would have it, that was voting day in her home city of New Delhi.
