
Major governments are rolling back wildlife protections, even as scientists warn that animal populations are in massive decline. The World Wildlife Fund's 2018 Living Planet Report found a 60 % decline in the planet's populations of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, and amphibians over the past four decades.
