A Soyuz spacecraft carrying a Russian and a U.S. astronaut on board was forced to make an emergency landing while en route to the the International Space Station after a booster rocket failed mid-air on Thursday. Russian news agencies report the crew landed safely in Kazakhstan, site of the launch.
