Putin tells Russians he will soften pension reforms to quell revolt

Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to quell a growing revolt from pensioners. The Kremlin's plan to raise retirement age has been met with outrage. Wednesday, on national television, Putin offered a small concession by saying the retirement age for women would go up from 55 to 60, not 63. However, men's retirement age increase by 5 years to 65, would remain unchanged.
