California wildfires kill six, thousands flee raging inferno

Thousands of residents in northern California are fleeing from wildfires that have claimed 6 lives and destroyed almost 660 homes. Thousands of buildings are also under threat about 190 km northeast of San Francisco. Firefighters say a fire further north is now somewhat under control.
