The Porcupine caribou herd in the Yukon has recorded the largest numbers ever after biologists did their count in July. There were between 202,000 and 235,000 animals, nearly twice the number of animals recorded at a low point in 2001. Biologists called it a 'shining light' given the poor state of caribou.
