Deadly Bronx apartment fire started by child playing with stove

A fire that killed 12 people in New York was started by a child playing with a stove, according to a fire commissioner in the Bronx. It began with a 3½ years old playing with the burners on the stove and the fire moved quickly after the mother ran out of the house without closing the door.
