Nate weakens into a tropical depression as it moves inland, bringing heavy rainfall and flooding

Wide-spread power outages are being reported along multiple US Gulf States. Hurricane Nate has now been downgraded to a tropical storm as it continues to move inland and northeast-ward. It slammed into Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama with sustained winds of about 130 kilometres-an-hour.
