A number of sailors are missing, other injured, after the American navy destroyer USS Fitzgerald collided with a Filipino merchant vessel off the coast of Japan. The navy says the ship was heavily damaged and is flooding in some areas. It is now heading to Yokosuka, a city south of Tokyo. The Japanese Coast Guard has dispatched ships and aircraft for search and rescue operations.
