Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got a private visit with Pope Francis today at the Vatican. The meeting lasted about 40 minutes, during which the Prime Minister asked the Pope for a formal apology for the Catholic church's role in Canada's residential school system. While Pope Francis did not agree to a formal apology today - the possibility for one is still there. Trudeau even invited the Pope to visit Canada to make the apology.
