Charleston alleged killer challenges death penalty

SOUTH CAROLINA-SHOOTING/

Lawyers for the man charged with killing of nine people at a Charleston, S.C. church are challenging the death penalty, saying it is unconstitutional. Such a ruling would allow Roof to plead guilty and be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release.
