Mohamed Fahmy's lawyer says Canada has formally applied for a pardon

The Canadian government has formally applied to Egyptian authorities for the pardon and deportation of Al-Jazeera journalist Mohamed Fahmy, his lawyer Amal Clooney has told CBC.
